Honeysuckle Farm is home to different types of horses:

Charlie is the oldest and most venerable of our Shire horses. He is 17 hands high (that is 17 times 4 inches from his hooves to his withers, or shoulders to a layman) and made distinctive by his large white head and blue eyes. He was born on August 5th 1989 and has been at the farm giving cart rides since 1993, a very long time indeed. Charlie retired from cart rides in 2006 and will enjoy a long retirement on the farm.

Tommy is much younger and bigger than Charlie although very similar in colouring. He stands 19 hands high and was born on May 5th 2000. He arrived at the farm in 2003 and helped Charlie pull the cart for several years before he started doing it all by himself in 2007. Tommy is just entering his prime years for working and loves taking visitors around the farm on his cart.

Molly is a Percheron horse. A French breed very similar to the English Shire in all but colour. Molly is a dappled grey compared to the black and white of Charlie and Tommy. She is a very gentle character and stands 17 hands high. Molly came to the farm in spring 2007 and was born on April 20th 2001.

Pip or The Piper’s Son, to give him his full name is an Irish Draft dressage horse and is bay in colour. He was born on July 23rd 1992. He is very friendly and has been at the farm since January 2007 having spent his previous years at Burton Constable. He hadn’t seen a horse bigger than himself until he came to the farm and met Charlie, Tommy and Molly.

Currently there are three point-to-point horses on the farm; Boris, Bilbo and Lilly.
Boris and Bilbo are very similar looking horses, both being bay with white blazes and markings (the easiest way to tell them apart is that Bilbo has four white socks). They are the baby horses on the farm and are very spoiled. They have more rugs than most people have coats. Boris will be entering several races in 2008 including Brocklesby.
Lilly is the grand old lady of the farm, she was born on February 1st 1990 and is also bay and has been here since she was six months old. She is very greedy.
